Urology No Gap and Known Gap Surgery
MBBS(Hons) Syd, FRACS (Urology)
Urological Surgeon
Affordable, transparent urological surgery for patients with private health insurance
Dr Neil Joshi offers No Gap and Known Gap surgical options for the majority of urological procedures, for all major health funds. This means your surgical out of pocket costs could range from zero to a maximum of $500. We also work with anaesthetists and assistants (where needed) to reduce their costs to you as well.
If you have private health insurance and are considering urological surgery, our team can help you understand your expected out of costs before proceeding.
What is No Gap urology surgery?
No Gap surgery means that, where applicable, the surgeon's fee is covered by the relevant Medicare and private health insurance arrangements, so there may be no out-of-pocket cost for the surgeon's surgical fee.
Eligibility depends on your health fund, level of cover, hospital, procedure and individual circumstances.
What is Known Gap urology surgery?
Known Gap surgery means that where a surgical fee cannot be covered completely under a No Gap arrangement, the patient's out-of-pocket contribution is discussed and agreed in advance, usually to a maximum of $500, which can save thousands of dollars overall.
You will receive information about the expected surgical fees before proceeding with surgery.
No gap or Known gap surgery does not mean that every cost associated with the hospital admission is zero. Anaesthetist, Health fund excesses, Hospital , Imaging and Pathology services may attract an out of pocket amount, but we work hard to confirm that these costs are minimised where possible.
